VDV's preferred position is that central attacking midfield role. Basically he'd play there for Holland if he was better than Sneijder, which he ain't and that's why he's often found playing out wide when Robben isn't fit. He's a bit of once in a blue moon luxury player for me. When he could be arse... |

City will take a long enough time to gel and besides most of their freshest signings aren't really frightening. Losing Bellamy and benching Adebayor will be bad moves and for me guys like Yaya, Milner and Silva will prove to be average signings. Balotelli's awful attitude will be further tested in E... |

His best spell of his career was at Hambury Yup and he hasn't done anything as good since and even then he was just 'pretty good' rather than anything special. Add ageing, injuries and some terribly inconsistent form and you've got a lesser than 'pretty good' player IMO. Although I won't forget tha... |

I don't think he'll play again, and our player will get a 3 game FA Ban, that can't be right can it? Happened to me. I've never been able to play football since and three stressful operations over a long period of time since has really mucked up not just my health but everything in my life really a... |

At least twice a game Clichy jumps into challenges ignoring the risk of missing the ball and leaves a pile of space for the opposition player to exploit. He's cost us games in the past. When he gets it right he's super, but not on a consistent basis. I was his biggest fan a couple of seasons ago but... |

I don't see how Clichy gets "too much crap" from fans. I think he's lost his way a bit in terms of form but he always had that fragility in his game. He's not half as good as what Ashley Cole was in terms of being a defender but due to his blistering pace he can recover from his mistakes a... |

I don't see why he won't be here, but he has declined and Gibbs certainly looked a safer option when he filled in last season. |

Almunia's gonna be class this season anyway. :) Nah if Given still can't get games come Christmas time and Almunia isn't performing up to super high standards then we'll probably go for Schwarzer again, but by then the Aussie will be 38, so I say leave it be and wait until next Summer and bid for a ... |

Good business for Stoke, Brum and the Mackems.
Wonder if the Spuds got VDV? I don't particularly rate him and can't see him adapting too well to the Prem. That's if they've signed him. |

Aye sure. £17m for a player who doesn't really do much playing.
Considering the price you've paid for some other players I guess it's not disastrous but £17m would be a record signing for us. |

Hleb to Birmingham?
That guy fairly went backwards after going from us to failing at Barca..
He could have stayed at Arsenal. Whilst at times he was frustrating when he was good he was bloody good, especially in the middle. |

The guy should just put his name down for beach football.
It seems every time he puts on football boots he gets injured.
It's a real pity as I've always thought he's been a class player. |

I just doubt they'll be able to back or fund their Manager more or as well as Everton do with Moyes. Although Moyes maybe has been overachieving with Everton and would inherit a better selection with some more youth & potential? Maybe there's a deep-lying issue that's having an effect on their w... |
