Birmingham v Spurs. The home side will be looking to bounce back after Chelsea ended the unbeaten run they'd been on. Think i'll go 1-1 Burnley v Chelsea. Us well out of form face Chelsea who seem to be bang in form and Lampard scoring goals for fun in recent weeks. Drogba back from the Africa cup to add to our problems. 0-3 no matter what way round try looking at the game i dont even see us getting a point. Not won a game since we beat HullCity back in November Fulham v Villa. 1-1 Hull v Wolves. From a Burnley point of view could do with this relegation battle being a draw but think Hull will sneak it 2-1 Liverpool v Bolton Easy home wn for Liverpool against Moses and his gang Westham v Blackburn. Blackburn starting to pull away from the relegation places and for me a must win game for Westham. as much as i like Blackburn to get hammered every game would be better for us if they Turn Westham over Wigan v Everton. Away win. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Biggest game of the weekend by far on Sunday. Arsenal V Man Utd. Not sure what to make of it, think Ferdinand will be a loss even though Utd are saying Vidic will be fit to play. Dont believe he's 100% fit, Arsenal will be missing their main centreback too wont they? City v Portsmouth- Can see Man City hammerin them 4-0 Sunderland v Stoke 1-1

Liverpool? Easy? Win?
Somehow Stacki I think you have a lot more faith in them than I do.

Under Megson I would agree, they just bent over, touched their toes and thought of England at Anfield every time they were there when he was in charge, but they'll go after us tomorrow because we're very, very vulnerable.

Apart from maybe letting less goals in i cant see Bolton being much better on the road under Coyle than he was with Burnley tbh.
2goal win at least imo for Liverpool

Not optimistic for us. Been pretty dire in the past couple of weeks. Eduardo should be out and probably Vermaelen too. Clichy has been all over the shop and Sagna has been really quiet. Almunia still looks shaky and we'll rely heavily on Sol and Gallas against Rooney. We miss Song badly too and there's a huge gap in there when Denilson plays as he doesn't know how to hold and doesn't know how to defend, if he tries he'll probably give away stupid penalties or freekicks. If no Eduardo I'd expect Bendtner to start unless Nasri comes in and Arshavin goes central.
Not really confident. The only consistent fit & performing players will probably be Gallas, Cesc and at times Arshavin. The rest have been up & down with form or fitness. Although I expect big Sol to do well, he's looked really good so far in his second tenure.
United will miss Ferdinand and we need some pace up there to get at them. We don't really have that but I would stick Arshavin up there as his trickery and turn of pace could cause them trouble. Also if a half-chance comes he's probably our best option.

2goal win at least imo for Liverpool Still in that hunnymoon period where they have a new manager, which always improves confidence and performance's. Add that together with everybody fancying their chances against us. I think it'll be a tight game.

Song's back, which is great news, or else we'd definitely lose. Don't know how Sunday will go, bit of a bad feeling about it. Vermaelen almost certain to be out, but Sol has done well in the two games, even against the pace of Agbonlahor he was relatively untroubled. Still gets himself into great defensive positions, which is half the battle really.
The biggest problem the last couple of weeks has been we've had no shape in midfield. Song will fix that, but it's how tired he is from his exersions in Africa. Interested to see how United shape up too. I'm hoping for Scholes and Carrick together as 2 of the 3 in midfield, because you can cause those two massive problems with good movement. Can't see where we'll score from though, short of a bit of magic from somebody.

United have seemed to struggle for a while in games against Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal as they can't dominate the midfield, Fletcher picks himself for these games which leaves Fergie with the choice of Scholes, Carrick or Anderson. I honestly don't know who I'd prefer to play if I was Fergie. I suspect Fergie will go 4-5-1 and play for a point like he normally does in these games. Playing either Rooney or Park on the left, Valencia on the right and have Giggs in central midfield. I was going to say Owen Hargreaves staying fit would be huge for them in these games but he'd need to get fit in the first place. Which isn't exactly likely.

This is great news. If he is tired it wouldn't matter too much, a tiring Song is miles better than a fully fit Denilson in there. Just his positional sense and ability to sit & keep things simple are things Denilson just can't do. Prior to Sol's second debut against Stoke I'd have been cacking myself at the prospect of Vermaelen getting injured, especially for a game like this. But Sol has been shockingly good thus far and as long as it's not just adrenaline pumped (not that it should die for an Arsenal V ManYoo game) he should do well alongside Gallas who did most of the work with that annoying looking brat 'Gabby' midweek. Gallas revels in these big games, particularly against the Mancs. When we beat them 2-1 with two Nasri goals I recall an amazing performance from Gallas. Rooney looks on good form so he best be at his best. Sol's experience in this tie might even give us some benefits, Vermaelen dives in too much for me. As for match-winners. I don't see the big issue. Arshavin and Cesc have proved it before in big games that they can step up and be the difference. Song returning will hopefully give Cesc the license to get forward more and dictate the play. It looks as though Bendtner will start unless he sticks Vela in. Personally I'd put Arshavin in the middle and put Nasri or Vela in on the left. Bendtner at his best can be clumsily slow on the ball, but just back from an op he won't be buzzing on the ball.

Birmingham v Spurs. Depends how much Chelsea has knocked Birmingham's confidence. Draw. Burnley v Chelsea. Away win
Fulham v Villa. Take Fulham to nick this one
Hull v Wolves. Draw
Liverpool v Bolton Agree with Dan that this is a banana skin, especially as Coyle starts to get his shit together. They went two up at Arsenal remember. We have defended better of late, but lack any real penetration up front with Torres and Yossi out and no-one creative other than a still half fit Gerrard. if we start with Aquilani I take us to win, but not by much. 1-0 maybe.
Westham v Blackburn. I take the Hammers to win
Wigan v Everton. Think the Bluenoses will nick this ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Arsenal V Man Utd. Ferdinand is a miss in a game like this and MU have generally struggled against the better teams this season. They put a lot of effort into the Carling Cup game and did enough to snatch it at the end, but this is a different proposition. Arsenal for me still not the force of a few years ago and still have a glass jaw feeling about them, but beating them at the Emirates is a big ask. I will go for a draw. City v Portsmouth- City will walk this
Sunderland v Stoke Draw

I'd take a draw at Arsenal tomorrow now if it was offered, I fear for United tomorrow tbh.
It'll probably be Rooney up front on his own, and if Nani starts Fergie has finally gone bonkers.
Vidic is supposedly back, which may explain why they took the risk with the WGT in midweek.

In fairness eric, Nani did play well against Hull (who I admit are no Arsenal!) however, I would expect Valencia to take back the right wing spot tomorrow.

Pleased with another 3 points yesterday, don't think we were great but got the job done with two sloppy goals. Ngog missed another sitter as well. Birmingham did their bit by holding Spurs and hopefully Pompey can do the same against City this afternoon.
Merseyside derby up next at Anfield, both teams on a decent run of form, grinding out results without playing well you'd say. Our record at Anfield against them under Rafa is pretty good, so hopefully we can beat them in the early kick off to put some pressure on the rest.

Have to say that Kyriagos has been doing a pretty decent job since he has come in to the side, in spite of all my reservations. If anything, he hasn't got the credit he has deserved - since he and Skrtel have been paired at ther back, our defensive record is much better, as is our defending at setpieces. The jury remains out for now - I remember Torben Piechnick (sp?) ansd Bjorn Tore Kvarme being viewed as stars in the making on the basis of early performances . If the big Greek plays in the derby and against City and Arsenal, we will start to see if he is the real deal. But thus far, he has done a better job at CB than Carragher or Agger this season - same could be said of Skrtel on recent form.

Burnley did far better last night than i expected them to really, shame we didnt hang on for a point though need to play at them sort of levels next weekend at home to Westham and hopefully get all 3 points and our first win in months. Must win game, infact most of the home games will have that tag from now till the end of the season.. Couldnt believe we left Terry free on every corner or freekick and was bound to punish us in the end up with nobody picking him up. Good header aswell. Fletcher took his goal well Cort did OK at the back, Carlisle accepted the blame for the winner Terry got and rightly so. For the Chelsea goal you could see it happening soon as their keeper got hold of the ball Carlisle and Cort not even over the halfway line as Chelsea broke away and were deep into our part of the field before any of them looked like getting back in place.. Robbie Blake for me was well off the pace again dont think he did himelf any favours to start the next game.. Eagles who normally creates most of our good goalscoring chances got nothing out of the Chelsea fullback.

That block off the line yesterday was one of the best bits of defending I've seen from any of our players this season. I do also agree we've looked more solid in the last six games that all season at the back but we've played Stoke, Bolton and Spurs in that run who all love a punt or 50 up to a big centre forward. Carragher's not been that bad at right back either, Johnson can't be much more than a week or two away from fitness by now anyway.

Same old Arsenal, beating themselves with aplomb.
How wasteful has Arshavin been? Almunia & Clichy proving liabilities again. Depressing stuff.

Have said all along that this Arsenal side are a bit too fragile to be champions. Once again they are trying to walk the ball in while looking vulnerable at the back. Almunia is nowhere near good enough for a team like Arsenal. One team looks clinical and solid, the other looks pristine and beatable. Happy to tempt fate by write them off at half time, I take the scum to win 3 1.

Yeah, it won't get better for us in the 2nd half. We might pull a goal back but pushing forward gives Nani and co. more space to embarrass us again, especially down Clichy's side.
I'd say we're a quick side, and quick moving the ball.. that's not the problem. We just look weak. Adding to that there's really no leadership. If van Persie was playing he'd surely slap Arshavin for all his misplaced shots & passes and sheer greediness. At the back we're all over the place. Rooney just ghosted in for his goal, with Denilson's heartless attempts to track him back.
United haven't been that good, that's the annoying thing. We've bent over again. If I was faithful to say we were always in a title race, today's example shows me we just haven't got it. Because we'll bottle it again somewhere else. Chelsea embarrassed us here and it looks as though the other horse in the race will too.
