During his spell at North End, Fuller's mate Claude Davis was dating friend of mine who I worked with at JJB at weekends. Occsionally we'd have cause to go and meet her in various nightclubs in Preston and on occasion witnessed Ricardo Fuller's behaviour in them. All I can say is I'm not surprised.

Liquid? God is that place still even open??

One of the funniest things I've ever witnessed happened outside that club. Must be 5 or so years back we were on a JJB staff night out at Christmas and we'de been bowling ('cos we had loads of 16 yr old Christmas temps) but then were going up town. The shop manager, who was a really decent bloke had been on it all day, and by the time we got outside liquid at midnightish he was well the worse for wear. So we queue up outside, there's about 15 of us, and when we get to the front they start letting us in (including lads who were 16 and 17 and looked about 12, then he got to a girl called Laura who was 25, ginger and a bit on the big side, and they asked her for ID. She didn't look under 18, or 21, or whatever they were pretending was the cut off that night, they just didn't want her in there. She didn't have any ID and they wouldn't let her in. Now I was just behind her in the queue and the shop manager was behind me, he comes to the front and says to the bouncer....... "Do you know who I am?" To which the bouncer says "No mate and I don't really care"..... so he says "I'm the store manager of JJB Sports Newcastle-under-Lyme and this young lady works for me... so you'd better let her in."

I was almost on the floor in hysterics. It's funny whenever someone uses the "Do you know who I am?" line, but when it's followed by "I'm the store manager of JJB Sports Newcastle-under-Lyme and this young lady works for me... so you'd better let her in" it's pissing hilarious.

Anyway, I went inside, Laura's boyfriend (hard to believe) brought her student card from wherever he was across town (why he had it I've no idea) and she eventually got in. But the store manager, being a decent bloke had waited outside with her until she got in. The funny thing was....... The week after Christmas, my last day before I went back to Uni, this big fella comes into the shop over to the trainers section and asks me to speak to the shop manager..... apparently it was the bouncer from Liquid and apparently, once Laura had her ID the guy had let her in for free on a deal that the manager would give him a discount on any pair of trainers he wanted from JJB. :ezlol So the story is...... basically....... The "Do you know who I am?" Kinda worked........

Is it that law that Stoke striker's must do something silly.

Remember that Bangoura, Beattie, Fuller, I bet you could add a few more to the list.

All footballers that go to nightclubs seem to get themselves into trouble, I wouldn't bother if I was them.
