On Sky this morning the journalists were saying that if Arsenal win their last nine games they will be Champions, wrong, if United win theirs, they will be.
I posted this and then thought it might make a decent thread in its own right, so I started one.

As I said in the other thread it definitely looks more like a two horse race when you consider the fixtures.
Chelsea will drop points at Anfield or Old Trafford but I feel the Mancs will lose one of those games as well.
We're bound to get sloppy and fk up somewhere, I just hope the others do too like you've been doing all season to help us keep up.

It's going to be very interesting. I've said Chelsea all along but then I look at their poor away form over their last few months and they've still got to go to Man. United, Liverpool and Spurs away. Hmmm. That said I think Man. United and Chelsea will draw at OT and Man. United will drop points in at least two of their away games at Man. City, Bolton, Blackburn and Sunderland so they could end up on 83 or 84 points. So Arsenal only have to win 8 of their last 10 games to win the league then.

If Utd lose Rooney for any lenth of time i think Arsenal could get in there and win the title and off what i recall of the fixtures Arsenal have got the better run in of the lot. Cant never count Utd or Chelsea out of winning all the games they have left though, well apart from the ones they face each other in. With all the twists theres already been this season i expect there to be loads more before the end of the season

Soz, didn't realise Arsenal only had nine games left!
I think what's for certain is that all three teams will be dropping a fair few points in the run in as it's inevitable with them all still being in the champions league (at the moment) and playing teams still going for 4th and fighting relegation, particularly away.
More fun I think to guess how many points will win you the league this season, last few years it's been close to 90 points, I think 85 will do it this season.

Yeah, but we say "bloon"... I know we do over here. Rather than calling someone a 'bahloon' we just say 'bloon' without pronouncing the 'ah' bit.
Nobody says soz though in person do they?

Which would make it the best title challenge for a long time.

Last season we had Man United and Liverpool going out playing attacking football and beating teams comfortably, this season they are (trying in Liverpool's case) following the Chelsea model of awful football and grinding out results at all cost. Arsenal have improved a lot, as have Spurs and Man City a bit but other than that, I think the top teams in this league have gone backwards. Apart from the Manchester derby at the Old Toilet, how many great games have we had this season?

If we win our remaining 9 then I think we WILL win the league. However, starting to work out how many points the others will drop and how many points we will drop is a dangerous game. We have a tough game on Tuesday night and then go to Hull where we'll have a real battle next Saturday. You can't look too far in front. Every game is a tough one at this stage.
A lot depends on our injury luck imrpoving as well. Hopefully Cesc's hamstring is just tweaked and although he'll be out on Tuesday he could be back pretty quickly. Van Persie might also be back in time for the last 5 games, which might just give us an extra bit of quality at the important moment. Keeping Walcott and Bendtner (who played well again yesterday except for his finishing which was awful) fit is important to us. Arshavin coming back and really producing is going to be crucial and we need Song to avoid any further suspension or injury as well. At centre back Tommy V has started every game and we need that to continue and we need to get Billy back asap as well. Sol has done alright and I'd be happy enough for him to deputise for the odd game, but if we use Silvestre against any one with any quality it'll cost us.

Denilson in place of Song at DM is another big weakness that we may hope doesn't have to occur too much. Also we have to hope Almunia doesn't have another personal downer in the midst of a game whilst we have to keep Fabianski away from the role until he gets his brain scanned. Otherwise Clichy is improving slowly but surely with each game and we could have some key players coming back from injury before the very last few games.

Can't say I've ever heard it. Similarly one of my sisters spells out O, M, G instead of saying the words. But getting back on topic.. I think the League has been quite interesting with the topsy-turvy ups & downs. Now we've got a fresh, new, interesting battle for 4th from a few sides and as usual a very competitive relegation battle.
