I'm not aware of any super-injuction aganst BFF, so...
IF the allegations are true, (phrased that way so as not to agitate m'learned friends), should this man be leading his country's team out for their opener in Seth Ifrika?
Opinions welcomed.....

For me, he shouldnt even be in the team, never mind be captain of it, football is a team game and you cant be doing that to a team mate.
I'd like to think that if a member of any team I supported did that they would be shown the door, as Tommy Docherty was at United.

The problem is, if England sack him, who do they appoint? Rio ferdinand, currently serving a 4 match ban for hitting an opponent? Steven Gerrard, who thumped a bloke in a bar in a row over music? Rooney, who always seems an explosion waiting to happen? I'm not sure England should do anything. Sure, Terry is a c**t, but how do we know others aren't doing the same thing - his biggest problem is being found out. Still probably the best bet in his position too, so I don't think we should cut off our nose to spite our face.

Even more of a problem Galactico, this isn't about sacking him outright or ostracizing him from the team altogether. He's regarded as one of the top CBs in the country for many footballing reasons. But, this is more about the captaincy of our national side. For someone who has been involved in (so far unproven of course) antics that he has been reported to have been in, I have a massive problem with the question of his position. As Eric said, IF he has been doing what the Street Of Shame are hanging him out to dry for, he has to lose the armband. Any player who gets up to what he is alleged to have got up to, cannot retain any realistic claim to the significant role that being captain of the national side represents.
This calls up the prickly question of "how much do you try and shut out things on a personal level in these circumstances?" Yes, he's a great CB, but if there's any truth in the tales - he is a source of huge embarrassment if he's allowed to continue in his current role.
Maybe my perception is coloured by my own experiences, but if he is the rat that the redtops have him to be, then he has to go back to being just a player at best, not a captain.
In those circumstances he should count himself fortunate to keep the shirt at all.
If innocent, then he is far and away the best man for the job. If he has been "dipping it", - then ANY other player in an England shirt has at least as much claim to the armband, as he has sunk to depths we would normally reserve for the likes of Ashley Cole and his ugly-in-so-many-ways missus.
You'll notice I'm very careful to say "If he has...." etc, but then...
If the tabloids are way off the mark, why a super-injuction? Surely he could adopt a "publish and be damned" approach and get Clifford and the likes to recoup him tons of cash? No, for me it seems obvious that he ran to legal eagles because he knew he'd been nabbed.
The "shut up about this" order is the cowardly last refuge of the guilty sh1thouse....

What's the big deal? if he can still play at the level you need him be, then...? I don't think he's as dumb as a Tiger.

Is this the real reason Capello is going to clamp down on the WAGs? None of them are safe with JT around...

Dont think Terry should be sacked as England captain or dropped. Should be just left alone to deal with it. The press and some people will odf course want to see him given a public flogging. I was bored of listening to the Burnley fans signing "Same old Terry always cheating" after the first time i heard it last night

On talk shite yesterday morning Clifford was brought on to give an insight to how the publicity could be dealt with - turns out the girl in Q has employed him to represent her - if that is the case - JT will get slaughtered, coz love or hate him - Clifford seems to be the best in that particular business, she will come out all squeaky clean & JT's alledged past misdeamours will be brought out again etc etc.

I didn't actually believe the paper talk until I saw the game yesterday and the look on his face when leading Chelsea out and when he scored a fantastic header that let's face it could prove crucial to Chelsea winning the title.
Gerrard was backed in a similar situation after the night club incident as you would expect by Liverpool and Chelsea are doing the same.
Terry not being England captain causes more problems that it solves, as the media would go crazy and as Galactico said you've then the choice of captain right hook Gerrard, captain left elbow, shit I missed a drug test Ferdinand or the outsider Wayne Rooney. For that reason alone he must remain England captain in my eyes.

If Terry should be sacked, then why wasn't Beckham over the Rebecca Loos affair?
Plus I have heard stories about Mr Squeaky Clean Lineker that would make your hair curl...do you only get sacked if you get found out?

I've heard plenty of rumours over the years about JT not being able to keep it in his pants, I expect, as in the Tiger Woods case, all of these to come tumbling out of the cupboard making his position as captain untennable. Cappelo is Italian, why not do what Italy do, the player with the most caps on the day is captain, failing that, Lampard.

That Italian idea is worth a punt, highest capped player still playing is Beckham then Owen has 89 and Neville 85. More likely is, Gerrard and Cole with 77 each. Rio and fat Frank have 76 each. Terry only has 58.

Fuss over nothing. I don't care who John Terry sleeps with and nor should anyone else.
In one paper this morning (a classy one), he was described as "vile and gutless". A bit OTT.

Half-time vs Slovenia and England are 1-0 down: "Rio, Wayne Bridge and the rest of you guys, I`ll tell you the same thing Bridge`s bird told me when I was boinking her: Pull out!! And you better not rely on me to do it right!"

In one paper this morning (a classy one), he was described as "vile and gutless". A bit OTT. agreed. i dont care about john terry's personal life - its just that, personal, and has no relevance when it comes to football. the fact is, he is effective as a captain on the field, is a good defender and likes to score from headers whenever he can. okay, that last bit's a bonus, but you get my point. it's not like anyone's perfect these days. even people like george best had women flocking at him back in the day so i heard.

Having an affair is one thing but shaggging a team mate's wife is another, that's likely to damage morale. The way I see it now is Wayne Bridge can't go to the World Cup (blessing in diguise). Terry = absolute shite bloke but very good defender. Keep him in the squad unless the other players have a problem with it/him.

He's supposedly lost the captain's armband.
Wayne Bridge has been asked to check under his bed for it.
