You should be in it too, as you're part of Europe.

Israel on the other hand. Someone care to explain that one to me?

I suppose its because Israel is in Africa, but most of the countries wouldnt want to play them, only reason I can think of.

Arent some of the Turkish club sides actually in Asia.

I doubt Capello will be complaining about that.

Apart from the six points against Wales (a given) I actually think that's a tricky group. I'd have preferred Russia's one, or Croatia's, that's for sure. Of course England should still easily qualify, but I think it'll be harder than people think.

On the plus side, at least we didn't get Germany's group. That's a shocker.

Germany will cruise it again, which is funny.

Happy enough with our group. Would fancy our chances against the Slovaks and could take points off the Ruskies. As long as we don't do a lot of good work then gift Armenia & Andorra last minute equalisers. :lol

Capello won't care what the group is like. He won't be here. He's going after the World Cup, win or lose.

I like Jon think that is actually a tricky group. Bulgaria have some very talented players and Sofia is never an easy place to go and get a result, and Switzerland isn't a walkover either. Croatia got the plumb draw.

Got Sweeded. LOL

not saying there wont be a few tricky games along the way for England ut we'll finish top of the group and thats all that matters. Swiss away will be the hardest imo

Israel is actually in Asia, but because of the Arab-Israeli conflict it isn't a good idea for them to compete against their neighbours.

I think that Turkey is about 10% in Europe and 90% in Asia.

Oh aye, and Scotland are screwed, as per. 3rd place finish.

Kazakhstan had a bizarre position a few years ago where they played in the Euro qualifiers, but then played in the Asian qualifying section for the following World Cup because FIFA allowed them to choose. So they'd playe Euro qualifiers because they were better for World Ranking Points, which then led to them being higher seeded in the Asian World Cup Qualifying section.

FIFA did realise that was barking mad to be fair to them and they were told that if they wanted to play in the European Champs qualifiers then they would also have to compete for a European World Cup place. Which they now do.

Good point Chris. I'd love Woy to get it. He should have got it when Keegan did he was Number 1 on the FA's shortlist and they got railroaded into Keegan by the media and the "public".

Wasn't that just after he'd been potted by Blackburn so stock wasn't at the highest back then.

Yea was around that time. But he was still number 1 on their initial shortlist. They went with the "populist" choice which was the annoying thing.
